A place like no other
Hey everybody this is Captain Dave Lauer calling from Belle Glade fish camp on the edge of a place like no other, Lake Okeechobee with your April 14th fishing report.
Today I had Jimmy Johns on my boat, a customer from Washington D.C area, and his brother-in-law Terry who lives in Boston. Came down to Okeechobee, they wanted to fish here in particular. Okeechobee is such a unique place, a perfect mix…great view, quality and numbers. Today we went through 5-dozen of shiners, we had a bite on every single one. We caught approximately 60 bass, some of them in the 5-6 pound range. Weather wise, a perfect combination between windy and sunny. With an hour left to keep fishing we decided to use artificial, Terry caught a 5 1/2 pounder. We found a little spot where the fish were biting, not too far from where we originally were.
See you guys on my next adventure, tight lines.
