Top Water Lake Okeechobee Fishing Frenzy- Clewiston, FL
This is Capt Brian Brown with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report.
John came all the way from Missouri to have a Top Water Lake Okeechobee Fishing Frenzy in Clewiston, FL. We had an 8 hours to find quality largemouth bass with artificial baits only. We were destine to have a great day with the conditions so calm and warm. I did not expect the day to start the way it did.
Since we were out on the lake so early, we had to start off with top water. The top water bite was on, we caught a bunch of fish right off the bat. John caught a really nice one weighing 5 3/4 pounds. That is an exciting fish to get on a top water bait. That fish actually put on a show for us, smacking it 3 times before she actually ate it. We kept walking those baits away, until this happened!
The bite slowed down and we had to really start fishing. Throwing different patterns and techniques to find the next bite. A couple key patterns worked: a stick worm, chatter bait and swim jig. If you want some Lake Okeechobee Fishing Frenzy action, I would recommend you throw those baits.
Today wasn’t one of those days that we piled them in the boat but we had a much more steady bite. We consistently caught fish and to me that is a super productive trip. The weather was perfect with a little fog to start but the sun burnt it all away once it came out.
